EVISAT project presented at the TB conference, Durban, 11 June 2014

Picture1To contribute to the ongoing effort of knowing South Africa TB epidemic by informing targeted responses and identify research priorities the findings of the Evidence to Inform South Africa TB (EVISAT) Policy project was presented during a satellite session, chaired by Yogan Pillay (National DoH) and Kerry Pelzman (Director of Health, USAID), at the TB conference in Durban on 11 June 2014. The presentations focused on the key findings of the six new systematic reviews on the epidemiology of and programmatic response to TB in Children, Prison inmates, Health Care Workers, people living with HIV, Mine workers and informal settlement dwellers. This project was commissioned by WHO, managed by the Centre for Evidence-based Health Care (CEBHC) in collaboration with the Desmond Tutu TB Centre (DTTC) and the Health Systems and Services Research (HSSR) Unit at Stellenbosch University and funded by USAID and UNAIDS.
